The Deutsche Schule Durban is a German private school and offers a versatile education to children from Kindergarten to Grade 7, since it’s inception in 1971. Our approximately 150 children are predominantly from German families, but more and more non-German speaking families are opting to give their children the advantage of the German language.

German culture in the future
German schools, all over the world are places of cultural encounters and conversations. They are a great place to prepare students from a variety of cultural backgrounds for a bright and united future.
The Deutsche Schule Durban’s biggest task is to convey the German culture and language to their learners. Language and culture cannot be separated, and the DSD wants to give these German speaking students the tools to become independent, free and responsible individuals.
